Workshop Series:

Two, two-hour interactive dance workshops for all abilities, ages 18 and up. Participants will have a chance to learn some of the movement from Charmatz’ signature work Levée des conflits.

Held in two outdoor plaza spaces, the first at Drexel University on September 9, 2016 and the second on the east terrace of the Philadelphia Museum of Art on September 10, 2016.

This work is based on 25 gestures that grow and evolve as they are performed into one continuous sequence. Participants will learn several of the gestures and have a chance to develop the connection between them to make a dance phrase. This experience will give the dancers an inside view of the method, movement and structure of Charmatz’ innovative choreography. Some of the movements take place on the ground, so dress accordingly.
